how do I detract large crows from my birdbath/birdfeeder area, yet still attract the smaller birds?
The large birds bring dead animals, drop them in my birdbath, then proceed to sit there and feast at their own platter of food. This gets very nasty, and my dogs keep trying to eat the remains, which fall to the ground! I get a lot of woodpeckers, and I certainly don’t want THEM to be afraid. Thx
I have a similar problem with pidgeons, but as far as I’m aware there is nothing specific for crows. The only bird deterrants I know are for all birds, and will keep away the smaller birds you like.
You could try investing in something smaller, possibly hooded to suit small birds, and inaccessible to crows? Try hanging feeders, again suited to smaller birds, see if that works?
