FOR GUITAR PLAYERS : Question?
I own a cherry Gibson SG standard. I listen a lot to yngwie malmsteen, children of bodom, bathory, maiden, and generally neoclassical/speed/black/heavy metal and also play these styles. I ll have my guitar painted white, and will replace the pick ups to EMGs? What do you think? Any pick up suggestions? Whould you do something like this?
Don’t paint your guitar, its a waste of money. But you’ll want a pick up that will scream you need active pick ups- try the Seymour Duncan LiveWire series. Dave Mustaine has a signiture model. But before you buy them you need to see if you can hide a 9 volt battery in the guitar body. thats the only difference (really) that there is between a regular pickup. Also take a look at the active sets fro EMG.
