How does cash at closing work with FHA Loan?
My FHA Loan officer told me that I will need to bring approx $5K to for cash at closing. But, he said they will not debit the funds at all. He said they just have to verify the funds are there and it can be cash from all accounts including our checkings and savings at multiple banks. My husband didn’t think that is what the loan officer was saying. Has anyone ever heard of how this works? We are first time homebuyers. Thanks!
When you close on a mortgage you need to bring a cashiers check to the closing table that covers closing cost/downpayment.
As far as cash on hand being verified that is part of the loan processing. The bank/mortgage lender will verify funds in your bank accounts. This is separate from bringing cash to closing. However, you do have to verify where you received the funds for closing if you typically don’t have that amount in your bank accounts.
